Stroudsmoor Country Inn Engagement Session: Kailey & Josh

Last weekend I found myself heading up north to the Stroudsmoor Country Inn for a engagement photo session. This was my first time there so I was really looking forward to it. I have yet work at a location in the Pocono area that wasn't amazing and this was no different. When you first pull in your see Terraview, their stone castle wedding venue, perched proudly atop Stroudsmoor Mountain. To the right, you see their adorable cottages and the Inn. It's the perfect mountain getaway location! The weather was amazing, especially for February. It was a chilly morning but the sun was shining and it was warming up by the minute. Kailey and Josh traveled up from Maryland to view the venue and decide

Valentine's Day: Baby Portraits

Over the weekend I was able to photograph my friend's beautiful baby girl, Evie. Her Mommy and I go way back so even though I focus solely on wedding and event photography now, I jumped at the opportunity ( and will any other time she asks me until forever). The photos were her surprise gift for her husband and I was so excited to get to work. Also, her baby is ridiculously gorgeous so there's that ;) Look at those tiny feet and ruffles! See what I mean? GORGEOUS! MWA :) Keep smiling, princess! You are unstoppable <3 Happy Valentine's Day! -SCP

Lockridge Park Engagement Session: Wendy & Jon

It was a chilly but beautiful day for an engagement session at Lockridge Park. I have to say, this is my favorite location to date. I love the rustic feel of the ruins and the way they somehow make the perfect romantic setting for a newly engaged couple. Wendy, Jon, and Dobbs did such a wonderful job and were so wonderful to work with! They climbed down sketchy stairs, got muddy, and trusted me no matter what I ask of them. I can't wait to photograph their wedding in the fall :)

How To Photograph Bridal Prep.

If you're new to wedding photography you may be wondering, " How do I photograph bridal prep?" I promise you aren't alone. If I had a nickel for every time I searched Google for wedding photography "how to's" I'd be a bajillionaire. I'd love to share with you how I approach this part of the day. Hopefully it inspires you and makes you feel more confident at your next wedding. Let me first say that this is my favorite part of the day to photograph. It is so full of emotion and anticipation that it almost feels electric to me. There are endless opportunities to capture the tiny little moments that seem small, but are such a huge part of this day. Find natural light: I know it's not always
