STOP IT. Sincerely, Samantha Ok now that we've gotten that out of the way can we seriously talk about this for a second? Why in the world anyone would think it's OK to photograph a couple's wedding without their permission is beyond me but, I guess this is the world we live in now. I see this ALL. THE. TIME. I have actually photographed a wedding once at a public park and had someone photographing the entire ceremony from directly over my left shoulder. Like, from 6 inches behind me. It was early in my career and I was still bit shy with my authority (I'm not now) so I just assumed it was a guest and didn't say anything to avoid being rude. You guys, IT WASN'T A GUEST. It was just some ra

Creative and Business Coaching

Let's face it. Facebook groups are WONDERFUL resources but sometimes they're intimidating and if I'm being honest, other times they can be down right mean. I can't tell you how many times I've wished for a safe, non judgmental place where I could ask questions or just simply share my fears with someone who has already been through it. That's why I am so happy to announce that I am now offering creative and business coaching for wedding photographers and other creative minded individuals! Maybe you're just starting out and you're wonderi

Bar Harbor Wedding | Sandra and Eric

Oh my goodness, what a fun weekend this was!!! On Friday night I headed down to one of my all time favorite Maine Wedding Venues for Sandra and Eric's rehearsal dinner. They planned an absolute treat for their guests, and had a lobster bake on the patio of the beautiful grounds of the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center. So fun!! As guests started arriving it was clear how loved Sandra and Eric truly are, and just how excited their family and friends were to be sharing this time with them. The following morning I headed back to the resort and got to work documenting all the wedding day fun. As always, I started with the details. Sandra made sure her day was custom just for them and

Old Orchard Beach Wedding | Emily & Greg

Last weekend I traveled down to Old Orchard Beach for Emily and Greg's Old Orchard Beach wedding. They are just the sweetest couple and they planned such a unique, beautiful, and fun day! Their wedding took place at Dunegrass Gold Club in OOB. This was no average wedding day, friends. Nope, it was a brunch wedding and it was so fun!! I arrived early at 8 am to start photographing their day. The guys were all ready first, in their grey tuxes and matching caps. PERFECT for a wedding with a slight golf theme :) The ladies all got ready next, and I LOVED the bridesmaid gowns Emily picked out. They were two pieces with white tops and sage green skirts and were just right for an early summer
