It was a very warm September afternoon in Philadelphia. Tucked into the hustle and bustle of the busy city life Germantown Philadelphia is known for, lies Grumblethorpe. A historic little treasure dating back to the 1700's. Walking through the gate you find the most charming little hidden garden in the back complete with chickens :)
Guests took their seats in the garden underneath the shade of a vine covered arbor. The groomsmen and officiant made their way to the front of the ceremony area. The music changed and suddenly Star Wars- The Throne Room filled the area ( it was amazing). Pat walked down the aisle with his mom and stood eagerly beside the gorgeous floral arbor. One by one bridesmaids made their entrance, the couple's dog, Rella, included. Next it was Sarah's turn, and she started her way down the aisle on the arm of her mom.
The ceremony was beautiful. Sarah and Pat wrote their own vows, making the ceremony a perfect fit for them. Their words were beautiful and the perfect mix of loving and emotional with a little humor thrown in. Before I knew it, they were enjoying their first kiss as husband and wife.
The cocktail hour took place in the courtyard and their guests really enjoyed themselves! The reception took place under a crystal top tent and was so beautifully decorated. Pops of cobalt blue glass shined along with the floral arrangements in shades of white, pink, and purple. It started to rain just as introductions started but hey, rain on your wedding day is good luck right? The DJs knew just how to keep everyone happy and kept everyone's mind on the dance floor instead of the weather. When it was time to cut the cake I remember clearly hearing Sarah say "we didn't discuss this" and before long both her and Pat had faces full of cake :)
The night was definitely one for the books <3
