Last Saturday I hit the road again for my 1st engagement session of the year. Off I went to meet Sarah and Rob for their Pemaquid Point Lighthouse engagement session. It was the 1st warm day in months. The weather was in the 60s and everything was looking great! The closer I got to the lighthouse, however, the thicker the fog got. I couldn't believe it! Fog or not, we were going to have a great session. I was determined. Sarah and Rob were every bit as kind and friendly as I expected. Don't you just love when that happens!? Not only are they so easy to be around, they are SUCH a dream to photograph! Their chemistry is so honest and natural, they needed very little direction from me. They did such a great job ! After talking for a bit I learned that Rob proposed to Sarah with his grandmother's engagement ring and I swear my heart skipped a beat. That is the most precious thing! When it came time to photograph the heirloom ring that now belongs to Sarah, I was filled in on the other special rings they were wearing. Sarah's claddagh ring was the first ring Rob ever gave her so of course we had to photograph that too. That's when Rob handed me his college ring to photograph too and it made me SOOOO happy! That doesn't happen too often but I think it's symbolic in their photo and an important part of their story as a couple. I'm so happy I was able to include it.
Unfortunately, Sarah and Rob's 1st scheduled engagement session in November had to be rescheduled because of bad winter weather. I was so sad to have to reschedule! One of these days I'm going to figure out whow to control the weather just for my clients. I should have known then what kind of winter we'd be in for! I can honestly say this winter has been the very worst I have ever experienced. Up here in the county we are over 12 feet for the season and have had snow on the ground since October!! Thankfully, the snow seems to have come to an end for the year :)
Because they live out of state and had to reschedule their original photo session, thankfully it won't be too long before I see them again, Their wedding day is less than two weeks away from today! I absolutely can't wait, it will no doubt be a beautiful day to remember.
I'll see you two in New Hampshire soon!
