Last weekend I traveled down to York Maine for Maggie and Zac's BEAUTIFUL Union Bluff Wedding. All I can say is... wow!
The day started with me dropping Kelsie off at the home Zac and his groomsmen were getting ready at. York Maine is a small beach town, but it is bursting with people and this magical beachy perfectness. It's wonderful! After saying my hellos and getting Kelsie settled and ready to photograph their details ( superhero socks and tie clips!! ) I headed over to Union Bluff Meetinghouse to meet up with Maggie and her bridesmaids.
Maggie was getting ready way up on the 5th floor bridal suite at the Union Bluff Hotel. The hotel didn't give me a room number for her, but with nine bridesmaids it wasn't hard to find them. I just followed the sounds ;) Maggie, her mom and mother in law, and all her bridesmaids were all dressed in colorful floral robes and were busy getting ready and enjoying the afternoon. After saying hi to the beautiful bride I got to work on photographing her details. From her GORGEOUS Essense of Australia gown and the Morilee bridesmaid gowns in Buttercup to the smaller details like her great grandmother's wedding rings, I did my best to make sure no detail was forgotten.
Once everyone was ready and Maggie had a first look with her dad, we all headed downstairs for our trolley ride over to Nubble Lighthouse.
Have you ever ridden on a trolley with a really great group of people getting ready to celebrate a wedding? No? It's something you need to add to your list. SO FUN! At one point one one of the groomsmen started playing " I want to dance with somebody" by Whitney Houston on their phone and before I knew it the trolley driver had that phone hooked up to the speakers of the trolley and everyone was singing ( some into bouquet microphones ;) ) and dancing their hearts out. So. So. So. Fun.
Once we arrived at Nubble Lighthouse it was time for Maggie and Zac's first look. We were running a little behind schedule which gave Zac plenty of time to let the anticipation build and when he first laid his eyes on Maggie, his emotions caught up with him. It was so beautiful and such a perfect and special moment. Following the first look we took some portraits at the lighthouse then headed back to Union Bluff Hotel for the ceremony.
Their ceremony was expertly officiated by Emica Beaudet ( I very highly recommend her! ) and was short and sweet and perfect. It took place on the lawn of the Hotel, overlooking the ocean and on a warm summer day I can't imagine a more perfect setting.
After the ceremony there was nothing left to do but party and party they did :) It was so fun! Their DJ from Main Event Entertainment did such a wonderful job! He kept all the guests entertained and engaged the entire time, even during dinner! Once dinner was over, that dance floor filled up and the rest of the evening was spent dancing and celebrating a really beautiful day. At one point "My Girl" started playing and Maggie even got to have a special dance with her sweet grandfather. During that dance her grandmom gave me the biggest hug and thanked me for being their to photograph their dance. It was so sweet! Maggie's grandfather kept coming up to me all day telling me what a great group of "kids" they all were and how special Maggie is and he was right.
What an absolutely wonderful group of people <3
