Last weekend I traveled "downeast" to Lamoine for Amelia and Dave's wedding. They referred to it as a backyard wedding, but it was not your average backyard wedding! It was spectacular. Really. They should open a wedding venue. So much thought and planning went into the details and it all was just so beautiful! From the little dried flowers that Amelia grew and dried herself for hair accents and the cake, to the bouquets that Amelia's maid of honor assembled, to the driftwood arbor and center pieces that were handmade from driftwood that Amelia's dad collected himself; so much thought and effort went into every. single. detail. and I was beyond impressed.
When I arrived Amelia was getting ready and Dave was hanging out with his friends and family. The weather was PERFECT! It was such a beautiful day! I got to work photographing all the amazing items that Amelia made. Time seemed to fly by and before we knew it it was time for their first look. Amelia chose the perfect spot behind her family's home on the beach. Dave lit up when he turned around and saw his beautiful bride... it was SO sweet!
Following the first look it was time for their ceremony. The were married on a property with a view that is breathtaking! Amelia made her way down the aisle to the sound of a trumpet played by an on site musician. It was amazing! During the ceremony Dave's dad performed a reading and Amelia's best friend read a poem, then the happy couple exchanged wedding vows and rings. Dave kissed his bride and him and Amelia officially began their lives together as husband and wife.
Following the ceremony we spent some time exploring and taking photos, and then guests were treated to a beautifully catered meal. Amelia's dad decided during dinner that it was time so share a very special bottle of elderberry wine that he made in 1983 and had been saving for a special occasion, and I'd say if ever there was the perfect occasion it would be his daughter's wedding day <3
After dessert the lighting changed into this amazing red color, the music was turned up, and everyone started dancing their hearts out. It was truly a special dad made just for Amelia and Dave.
