I think one thing will remain consistent this year: my 2020 couples are amazing.
Becca and Matt had so many plans and like everyone else getting married this year, then Coronavirus hit and everything went bonkers. They found themselves suddenly facing difficult choices when it came to their wedding plans and after seeing the end result I have to say, they still planned a pretty spectacular day for themselves.
They decided to host their wedding and reception at their home rather than the venue they had originally booked. Now, I know they knew how beautiful their new home was. I have to wonder, though, if they knew exactly what a GEM of a wedding "venue" they now had! It really had the feel of a glamorous, Maine B&B wedding!
When I arrived Becca and her bridesmaids were having their hair and makeup done. I'm still adjusting to not hugging my clients when I first see them... it's been so hard! So after a few hug free "hellos" and a moment of chatting with the gorgeous bride, I got to work photographing her details. Her gown was GORGEOUS! In all these years I've never seen a dress with such incredible bead work and let me tell you, it was HEAVY! Becca wore Ugg wedges, and chose the most perfect jewelry that was handmade just for her wedding day.
Once everyone was all ready, we headed across the street to The Farmhouse Beer Garden for their first look. I was told what an incredible job they did hosting their rehearsal dinner the night before, and you could tell! Once we arrived you could still see the "M" and "B" written in white flowers on two hay bails that were in place from the night before. It was beautiful and the staff was so sweet! Before long it was time to head back to their home for their wedding.
They were married under a tree adorned with dream catchers right in their backyard. It was beautiful and so special! The ceremony was definitely unique to them, their story, and their love for each other and from my view it was absolutely perfect. Following the ceremony it was time to par-TAY.
For their reception. they set up a gorgeous tent in their backyard along side a garden of sunflowers Matt had grown. Underneath the canopy was a stage set up for the band that assembled just for their wedding. ( You're very own wedding band!?!? I mean... <3 ) Tables were carefully spaced out and decorated with the most beautiful floral arrangements and vintage glassware that Becca and Matt had been collecting for more than a year. I didn't know how much I loved vintage glassware until that first moment under their tent. It's so beautiful!! Dinner was provided by Milly's Skillet Food Truck, and it all looked and smelled soooo delicious. Soon speeches were delivered, meals were shared, cake was tasted, first dances were danced, and there was nothing left to do but enjoy every second of the rest of the evening.
Congratulations, Becca and Matt <3
