Last Saturday I officially kicked off my 2021 wedding season in the absolute most perfect way: at Kara and Steven's Newagen Seaside Inn wedding. Not only was the venue so gorgeous, and every single detail so beautiful, but Kara and Steven along with their entire bridal party and families were so fun and truly lovely to work with. This year could not have started in a better way!
With a jam packed timeline planned, we arrived at the Seahorse Cottage where the ladies were getting ready and immediately got to work photographing all of Kara's wedding day details. Soft dusty blues, whites, and greens were the colors of the day adding another layer of timeless beauty throughout. That little cottage was packed right to the brim with friends and family anxiously waiting to celebrate the happy couple's union. In my short time there I saw plenty of teary eyes. It was so sweet!
Soon it was time to run (literally) over to the Pine Room where the guys were getting ready. It was the PERFECT atmosphere for a groom and his groomsmen to hang out in before the ceremony. There was a bar, pub style lighting and seating, a pool table and... no lie... a bowling alley. It immediately made me think of whiskey and cigars. As soon as we climbed those stairs, we quickly introduced ourselves to Steven and rushed the guys into getting dressed in hopes of sticking to our timeline. I have to take a minute to compliment Steven and his groomsmen here. They did such a great job following along with my requests, quickly at that, and really didn't complain at all!
Once everyone was dressed we ran back and forth between the Pine Room and Seahorse Cottage making sure to get as many bridal party photos taken prior to the ceremony as possible, while also making sure the bride and groom stayed completely out of each other's sites. With just about ten minutes left to spare, we wrapped up portraits and headed to the ceremony site.
The ceremony location was beautiful, with the exact right amount of coastal Maine sprinkled in the background. The guys lined up and soon Steven's aunt took her place at the altar, ready to officiate his wedding. The moms headed down the aisle next, followed by each one of Kara's eight bridesmaids. Then it was Kara's turn. On the arm of her dad, she walked down the aisle to her future husband. Steven couldn't hold back his emotions once he laid his eyes on his beautiful bride. Just as his tears started falling, his best man pulled a pack of tissues from his pocket. Talk about being prepared! Kara and Steven exchanged the vows they wrote themselves, and sealed their new marriage with a kiss.
The rest of the evening was filled with love, laughter, dancing, a little bit of the rain we had been wishing away all day, and one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen <3
Congratulations, Kara and Steven!!!
