Last Saturday Darren and I made our way up to Sugarloaf Ski Resort for Sammie and Billy's GORGEOUS wedding day. The weather was perfect, the location was amazing, they are the SWEETEST couple, and I could just tell it was going to be an amazing day.
After saying our hellos and briefly photographing their details and little getting ready, it was time to head over to the golf course with Billy for their first look. After spending time with both of them that morning, I would have thought Sammie would have been the emotional one during their first look, but all it took was one look at her and Billy was instantly in tears. It was SO SWEET, and just the perfect reaction!!! Soon after their moment together their bridal party and family made their way over and portraits were taken of everyone. They were a dream to photograph, almost effortlessly moving from pose to pose. Time flew by and before I knew it, it was time to head over to the bridal bridge for their ceremony. We all loaded up onto the shuttle and headed over to the bridge!
I have to take a minute to thank Sammie here. She is so selfless and so sweet, even on the most important day of her life. Darren, my second shooter ( and oldest son ) is a type 1 diabetic. We always have stuff nearby and he does a great job on wedding days, but we underestimated the distance between locations on this day. Totally my fault! Sammie's plan was to stay on the shuttle until it was time to walk down the aisle, but she graciously offered to get off the bus and hide behind the trees from her guests so that Darren could take the shuttle to the parking lot of the reception area so that he could get our cooler bag and get the juice he needed in that moment. Sammie, I can't thank you enough for your kindness and understanding in that moment. You are truly amazing.
Sammie and Billy's ceremony started as Sammie's brother played the voila in the background. It was amazing! The guys all walked down and took their place up front, and one by one the bridesmaids ( and one incredibly adorable flower girl ) made their way up as well. Soon it was Sammie's turn, and on the arm of her dad she walked down the aisle towards her future husband. Their ceremony was flawlessly officiated by one of Sammie's best friends, and soon her and Billy were husband and wife.
Following their ceremony guests were given the opportunity to ride the ski lift up to the reception area or take the shuttle. So fun!! Now, heights and I don't get along but it really was an amazing experience. Once at the top of the lift there was nothing left for them to do but celebrate the night :)
Congratulations, you two!!!! Here are some of my favorites from their day:
