Union Bluff Meeting House Wedding | Kelly & Mike

The first time I heard from Kelly was back in June of 2019. She had inquired about her and Mike's wedding on August 1, 2020, and after our consult they decided to book with me! A few months later in August of 2019 I met up with them for their engagement session and everything was going wonderfully...

then Covid happened.

As if that wasn't horrible enough, Maine decided that public events could not have more than 50 people in attendance until September 2020 at the earliest. You can imagine how devastating news like that would be to the couple who had been dreaming of dancing the night away with all their family and friends on their wedding day. Ultimately, Kelly and Mike decided to postpone their wedding until the following year.

Well guess what!? THEY'RE MARRIED NOW! Their day finally came and it was filled with family, friends, dancing, and everything pre-covid weddings had to offer.

Upon our arrival, my team and I were greeted with the sweetest welcomes! With a more relaxed timeline, there was calm feeling in the air. Well, for the vendors at least 😉 As the afternoon progressed and it got closer to the first look, emotions started setting in. Once everyone was ready, we all hopped onto the trolley and headed over to Nubble Lighthouse for the first look and portraits.

Nubble Lighthouse is an extremely special location to Kelly and Mike for a couple of reasons, so it makes sense that they would plan for so much to take place there on their wedding day. What they didn't plan for, however, was 45 degree, rainy, and extraordinarily windy weather. No one expected such a chilly weekend so late in May. It felt similar to a late fall nor'easter!! The wind was so intense! Unfortunately, the weather changed our plans but everything still worked out beautifully. After the fastest first look I have ever (!!!) experienced, we got some Nubble Lighthouse photos and hurried off to more protected portrait locations in town. Following quick visits to the amusement park and arcade, it was time for their ceremony.

Kelly and Mike were married in a beautiful ceremony right alongside the ocean. As I mentioned it was very cold, but as soon and Kelly made her way down the aisle everyone forgot about the weather and focused entirely on the happy couple. There was nothing but joy felt all around as they were finally able to exchange vows and become husband and wife.

After the ceremony, it was time to get the party started!! The bridal party was announced in with the moms leading the way, followed by the new Mr. and Mrs. They danced their first dance together and listened to the heartfelt speeches that were delivered by their loved ones. Mike had his special dance with his mom, and in an incredibly touching tribute, Kelly shared her dance with five special guys in her dad's honor. I'd be lying if I said that didn't have me tearing up a bit (a lot).

Before I knew it, it was time to pack up our gear and say goodbye. It was such a wonderful day!! Kelly and Mike are the sweetest couple, and we all truly enjoyed our day with them. I am beyond happy for them, and so thrilled that they were finally able to begin their journey together as husband and wife.

Congratulations, you two!!
