Last weekend I headed down to Cape Elizabeth for Katie and Josh's Cape Elizabeth Wedding. It was a beautiful weekend!! Nice and warm and not a drop of rain in sight. So wonderful!
I met up with Katie at an airbnb that they booked for getting ready. Several of my clients have done that this year and I am a huge fan! It offers so much more room than a hotel and most times a prettier backdrop for those getting ready photos. I very highly recommend it! After I arrived and said my hellos I got to work photographing details while Katie was having her hair and makeup done.
Katie chose a Rebecca Ingram wedding gown with the prettiest lace details. The scalloped edge on her gown was AMAZING! She chose strappy Badgley Mischka wedges and I think they were the perfect choice! Pretty aquamarine drop earrings were so classy and offered just the right amount of subtle color to her look. The floral arrangements for the day were all handmade by Katie herself and were so pretty! The sandy colored roses were such a great choice ( and maybe my new favorite rose ;) ).
Once everyone was all ready we headed over to Purpoodock Golf Club and everyone got in place for Katie and Josh's first look. Josh followed me to the location I chose for their special moment and anxiously waited as I went to give Katie the green light to head out. As soon as he heard her walking towards him you could see his emotions rise to the surface. It was so sweet! Katie took a deep breath as she walked up and wrapped her arms around him, and all the stress of the morning seemed to melt away. They were together now and nothing else mattered :)
Their ceremony was perfect. They chose to have a ring warming ceremony and all their family in the first row passed their rings down the aisle, one by one quietly holding their rings in their hands as they closed their eyes and thought about the blessings they wanted to place upon Katie and Josh. It was so special!
After the ceremony and portraits there was nothing left to do but enjoy the evening with their guests :) Josh started the evening with a special speech, including the sweetest moment when he started signing the part of his speech for Katie's sister <3 <3 <3 Oh my word, it was so thoughtful! It was such a wonderful day from start to finish.
Congratulations, Katie and Josh! I'm so happy for you two!!
